I love what Martin Luther King Jr. said: "If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted or Shakespeare wrote poetry." You know, you have got to be the best at whatever you do, so you have to decide that you will commit to excellence. We are in an extremely competitive and uncertain business market today, and if you aren’t operating from a state of excellence, then you are definitely falling behind.
Peak performers whom I coach and speak to have excellence ingrained in them as a habit. Now, the question is, what about you? When you commit to excellence in your job, your business, and your life, here is what you are going to do. You are going to be of more value. You are going to overdeliver. You are going to finish your work ahead of schedule.
You won’t wait for instructions, and you will work with your whole mind, heart, and soul. So, I challenge you today to outperform yourself.
