This reminds me of a fable I once read. In the depths of a dense, intimidating forest, there was a pregnant deer about to give birth. She found a remote grassy field near a river, thinking it would be a safe spot. But just as she began to experience labor pains, dark clouds gathered overhead, and a storm began. Lightning struck, igniting a forest fire.
To make matters worse, as the deer looked left, she saw a hunter taking aim with his bow. When she turned right, a hungry lion was creeping toward her. To the front was a dangerous river, and behind her, the flames were rapidly approaching.
What could she do? The situation seemed hopeless—trapped from all sides with no escape. But instead of reacting to the chaos, the deer made a choice. She decided to focus entirely on what mattered most in that moment: giving birth to her fawn.
In that split second, a series of miraculous events unfolded. A lightning strike blinded the hunter, causing him to miss his shot. The arrow flew past the deer and struck the lion instead. Heavy rain began pouring down, extinguishing the forest fire. And in the midst of it all, the deer successfully gave birth to a healthy fawn.
The lesson here is simple yet profound. In life, we often feel pulled in multiple directions, overwhelmed by external forces. But like the deer, we always have a choice. Will we let distractions, fear, or stress dictate our actions? Or will we focus on what truly matters?
I encourage you today to concentrate on what’s important to you. Start by writing down your intentions and purpose for the day. Remember, focus is a daily choice, and when you choose it, everything else falls into place. Your Good Friend and Mentor
