On your journey to success, if there is someone who will stay with you till the end, it's you yourself. People will meet you on the way. Some may even accompany you, but no one will finish the journey with you except you yourself. At the end of it, you will be answerable only to yourself.
I agree that we must look up to certain people as role models. As they act as a guide on our journey, however, we must aspire to be our own role model. You must learn from your mistakes. Instead of getting into self-criticism, you must speak assertively to yourself just like you do with others. The more you criticize yourself continuously, the more you have a broken relation with yourself in a day. You spend most of your time with yourself, and what you speak to yourself about yourself is very important. That's the imprint you leave on your mind.
Today we look for role models outside because inside each of us, there is someone who has been crushed under self-criticism. At the end of the day, you have to make sure that you look eye to eye with yourself. Look within yourself. You will definitely find the person with all the qualities that are needed to be a role model. Be a role model to yourself first, so that you can be a role model to many others. In the spirit in which you are angry, stressed, distracted, doubtful, and worrying, you are an anti-hero, a victim of your own life, and in the spirit in which you are happy, positive, joyful, passionate, full of belief, and focused on the right thing, you, my friend, are the hero of your own life.
