Question:- How to get along with your boss?
Payal's response:
In an ideal world, we would all love to have a boss and a leader who is very supportive and encouraging and helping us to climb the corporate ladder but we all know that the reality is actually far from this. We all have experienced different boss personalities and all of us have four options when it comes to dealing with bosses like this. Option one would be to just stay quiet and adjust to their ways. Option two would be to quit and go ahead and find another job or boss. Option three would be to stay where you are, adjust to them and work with them and at the same time remain stressed and full of anxiety. Option number 4 is to raise your own leadership bar to great heights that you can deal with any boss personality.
In my personal life, I began going for option number four all the time because it made me realize that option one, two, and three is making me as a victim in my own professional life, it’s making me dependent, it’s making my success dependent on a boss. Even if you quit your job, what’s the guarantee that the next boss is going to be better than my current boss. He/she could be worse.
I coach executive leaders daily and what I share with them is to practice ‘Traffic control’.
I have written about it in my book Achieve Unstoppable Success In Any Economy.
Once you begin practicing this technique you will realize that it is not the situation that matters, it is how you perceive and react to the situation, that is what matters the most.
Hope this is of much value to you in your journey to success.
