This is your good friend and mentor Payal Nanjiani and today I want to talk to you about the word self development.
My father once gave me this advice which helped me tremendously in my life and he said, “Payal, no one can give you wiser advice than yourself. So at all times keep uplifting yourself so that you can give yourself the best advice.” And I think he couldn't have been more right.
Out of everyone you know in the world, the only person that is always present in your life, non negotiable day and night, is you. So from time to time you need to work on the most important relationship you will ever have and that is with yourself.
When we have a harmonic relationship with ourself, we no longer look to other people to fill the gaps in our self esteem. We need people, but we aren't emotionally going to be greedy. There's a big difference between the two. You know as Wayne Dyer said, “You can never feel lonely when you like the person you're alone with.”
So in our day-to-day corporate life, we barely take the time to work on developing ourself and building a great relationship with ourself. I encourage you today to work and invest in developing yourself.
